Features & Benefits

How would I describe our wines?

The assortment of wines on this website have all been selected with the primary goal being to ensure that our client gets better than average value for the money. The majority of the wines chosen are suitable for drinking now. A smaller number will improve with additional cellaring.

We offer product from both boutique and significant wineries.

All wines must exhibit varietal character on the nose (bouquet) and on the palate. In addition they must be well-rounded, balanced and easy drinking.

As wines go, we offer primarily noble varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah (Shiraz), Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling), significant secondary grapes (Tempranillo, Malbec, Semillon, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris (Grigio), to a lesser degree more obscure options and blends. A visit through our price list will provide you with an overview of the aforementioned.

Where are they from? How are they selected?

Appellation Wines distinctly seeks out wines that are aromatic. Whether they originate from the New World or the Old World (Europe), we are of the opinion that most clients seek fresh, crisp flavors as opposed to masked, lackluster styles that are falling out of favor with the majority of consumers.

With this approach in mind, we have sought suppliers stemming from various regions (appellations) in Australia, California, France, Italy, New Zealand and Spain. We are presently seeking producers in Argentina, Canada, Chile, France, Italy, Spain and the West Coast of the USA.
